Science Teacher, Frank Ward Strong Middle School
Dr. Richard McCarthy has taught science for eight years at Frank Ward Strong Middle School in Durham Connecticut. He is married with three children. He has a doctorate in Cell Biology from Yale University. His Ph.D. thesis is entitled “Calcium Channels in Adrenal Glomerulosa Cells” (Ann Arbor Press, University of Michigan). Dr. McCarthy has collaborated with faculty at Wesleyan University in the science choreography project since 2006, and has played a key role in bringing the project into the classroom.
